Catholic Church endorses Jewish call for end to anti-Semitism. The Catholic Church in Scotland has endorsed the all-party statement condemning anti-Semitism and released by the Jewish community today. In a historic ceremony on Tuesday 15 November 2005, the leaders of Scotland's Catholic and Jewish communities came together at the Edinburgh home of Cardinal Keith O'Brien to celebrate 40 years of friendship.  The reception was timed to mark the 40th anniversary of a document produced by the Catholic Church's Second Vatican Council, titled, "Nostra Aetate" (a Declaration On The Relation Of The Church To Non-Christian Religions).  This 1965 document was described by cardinal O'Brien as "truly a ground breaking document." Peter Kearney claims that the recent controversy over the allegedly sectarian email sent by a senior SFA official to other SFA staff, may "simply be the tip of a disturbing iceberg of anti-Catholicism in Scottish society". The Director of the Catholic Parliamentary Office, Anthony Horan has sent a copy of the Catholic church’s anti bullying strategy to Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale, after a controversial Tweet in which she suggested “inclusive education” was not supported in Catholic schools.   In a message to the Labour leader, Anthony Horan said; “Catholic schools challenge discrimination and bullying on any grounds.
