At their meeting at Scotus College in Glasgow yesterday, the Bishops' Conference of Scotland in accordance with their standing orders held elections for Conference Office Bearers. The standing orders require that elections are held every three years.  

The results of the voting was as follows:  

Cardinal Keith O'Brien was re-elected as Conference President.  
Archbishop Mario Conti was re-elected as Conference Vice President  
Bishop Ian Murray was re-elected as Conference Episcopal Secretary  

Commenting on the election, Cardinal O'Brien said;  

"I am honoured that my brother bishops have re-elected me President of the Conference for a further three years. I look forward to collaborating closely with them over this period as we work to strengthen the Church in our country."
