National Conference of Priests and Permanent deacons Annual Conference, will take place between Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th September 2003 at the Milton Hotel, North Road, Fort William.

Theme: "We have toiled all night and caught nothing"

The conference, will be addressed by Rev. Brian Wilson, assistant director of the Escuela de la Fe, a catechetical institute in Mexico. He also writes homilies for the English edition of the "Sacerdos" web-site and a column for "Envoy" magazine. Since ordination in Salamanca in 1977 he has been a teacher and spiritual director in Mexico, a chaplain to the California Institute of Technology and University of Southern California from 1984-99, on the staff of the Nunciature in Dublin 1999-2001 and a year doing spiritual direction and retreat work in northern Mexico before his present post. The theme completes the NCPPD's reflections on the document "Novo Millenio Ineunte".

Speaking in advance of the Conference, NCPPD Chairman, Fr. Sean Fitzgerald said:

"I look forward to an invigorating and wide ranging series of debates at this year's conference and would urge Scotland's clergy to play their part in the role and direction of the NCPPD."

He added; "As clergy we find ourselves more and more living and working in isolation as growing numbers of parishes have only one priest. This makes it all the more important that we speak with one voice while sharing our experiences and concerns. The NCPPD gives us the opportunity to do this"
