The results of a poll commissioned by the Catholic Church in Scotland will be released this week. The poll results include a number of dramatic and compelling findings on Catholic schools, moral values in education and religious identification.  

The poll results will be released at a press conference on Thursday 23 May at the Catholic Media Office. Bishop Joseph Devine, President of the Catholic Education Commission, Mr Gordon Heald,MD of Opinion Research Business and Mr John Oates, Field Officer of the Catholic Education commission will comment on the results.  

The poll was commissioned by the Catholic Education Commission (CEC) and the Scottish Catholic Media Office (SCMO), designed by The Opinion research Business (ORB) and the questioning carried out by NFO System Three, between 25 April and 1 May 2002. A sample of 1016 adults weighted to reflect; gender, age and socio-economic grouping was involved.
