"In the fight against poverty the Church must not be confined to ideological borders such as Communism and Blairism" said Duncan MacLaren addressing the 20th anniversary Conference of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission.

Formerly Executive Director of the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund and now Head of International Relations with Caritas Internationalis in Rome, Duncan MacLaren said that the Church in general was listened to because it combined a moral vision with a sound analysis of our world which put the poor and human dignity first.
